The figures continue to be relentless with working youth in Spain . 30% of people between 16 and years of age who work do so part-time four points more than a year ago, and of them 402,100 are forced to accept a part-time contract due to the impossibility to get one full time. This involuntary bias especially seriously affects young women , who represent 63% of those who cannot find full-time employment and have to sign a contract for fewer hours. Youth temporary employment continues at scandalous levels, close to 55%, and the average annual salary of young people between 18 and 25 years old barely exceeds -according to the Tax Agency- 7,300 euros (20,566 euros is the general average salary). These figures, added to the abuse - often fraudulent - of non-labor practices , the phenomenon of false self-employment , underground employment, fraud in hiring, unemployment - which still affects 29% of youth under 30 years - or the risk of poverty or social exclusion (30%, according to the Living Conditions Survey, which makes this.
Age group the second most vulnerable, only behind those under 16 years of age, with 31% ), reflect an unacceptable precariousness that, far from being mitigated, continues to hit the vast majority of young people in their daily lives, who are thus incapable of planning and developing medium and long-term life projects. This circumstance is Australia Phone Number also evident in the continued decline in the rate of youth emancipation: currently - according to data compiled by the Spanish Youth Council - only 17% of the population under 30 years of age has managed to become emancipated . From 'Jóvenes CCOO' they consider that "the Government must immediately and courageously attend to its own commitments and ensure the interests and living conditions of the majority, especially in matters that do not allow further delay such as the increase in the minimum wage, the repeal of the labor reform or the regulation of housing understood as a human and constitutional right and not as a market good.
The union demands for another year that the Labor and Social Security Inspection be strengthened to effectively pursue unjustified temporary employment, submerged employment and fraud in self-employment, among other business abuses, as well as that the Government sit down to negotiate a statute that regulates non-labor practices to provide rights to those that are part of the academic curriculum and to employ those that are not linked to any training program. To try to alleviate this situation, they call on all working youth to organize unions to defend their rights inside and outside companies and regardless of their specific employment situation. “Only by uniting and supporting each other will we have the strength to fight to improve our living conditions, and our present and our future will depend on that strength that we are able to accumulate,” they say.
